Made from the thin-skinned Dzelshavi grape. The grape produces light, fresh wines, with a correspondingly low alcohol percentage. Red from Archil is slowly starting to climb high on our list of Georgian favorites, and will remain there with wines like Dzelshavi. Incidentally, it is suspected that Dzelshavi is one of the oldest Georgian grape varieties, and therefore also one of the oldest in the world.
Reminds of red Loire, Pinot d'Aunis, lots of red fruit and floral with a bit of grip. Wine after our own heart!
